Review of Alex Cross (2012) by Heather M — 13 Feb 2013
I have never read the books that were the inspiration for this movie so I can't compare them. I do know that Matthew Fox was stellar as the assassin/psychopath. His performance was perfectly wonderful and Burns and Perry were great together as best friends and partners on the force.
I hated that the wife and the 'girlfriend' were killed, but it was a good motivator for the lead detectives. Another stellar performance came from John C. McGinley as the political-games-playing Chief of Police - he was so good you want to hate him.
The story wasn't original, but it was entertaining and the cast makes up for any lack that exists in the plot.
