Review of Alex & Emma (2003) by Chloe S — 30 Mar 2009
This was better than I was expecting..I didn't even know it was directed by Rob Reiner until I saw the opening credits. I love stories within stories, so this held my interest, and it was pretty funny, too.
It's very similar to 'Paris When It Sizzles,' and I actually enjoyed watching this version more...the guy was more likable in this version....which doesn't necessarily make this film a better one, but I think they were both pretty average productions.
I heard it was beased on 'The Gambler,' though, which is a novel, and also a period movie, but I haven't seen or read that, so I cannot compare them. (The CGI in this movie cracks me up a bit, too.
:) ).
