While "Albert Nobbs' should really be a showcase for Glenn Close's performance as a woman who has chosen to live life as a man, it was Janet McTeer's supporting role as another woman with the same situation that really shines.

I appreciate Close's effort to bring this story to screen, but Albert Nobbs is such a timid and repressed character that it was hard to warm to her plight. The supporting cast is all fine and includes Mia Waskikowsa, Brendan Gleeson, Pauline Collins and an unrecognizable (to me anyway) Brenda Fricker.
