Review of Albert Nobbs (2011) by Wave C — 04 Jul 2013
Albert Nobbs (an unfortunate title for a film about, in essence, women disguising themselves as men to conceal their sexuality and avoid sexual exploitation in the 19th century), was, I thought, a warm, charming, dryly funny film which dealt with the issues sensitively and intelligently.
Some terrific, understated performances; however it lacked a little bit of bite for me. More rage, less billowing curtains.
