Review of Albert Nobbs (2011) by Ian G — 14 Sep 2013
This movie was absolutely fascinating. It highlights the struggles between men and women in varying ways. You have the obvious one of the fact that Albert is actually a woman. But also, the relationship between Mia Wasikowska and Aaron Taylor-Johnson's characters is also interesting.
Basically, by the end of this movie, I was like shit, women can't win. The acting is brilliant on all ends. Glenn Close carries this one like the pro she is, and this is undeniably one of her best roles.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Mia Wasikowska, and Janet McTeer round out this cast extremely well. The cinematography is understated, simple, and works perfectly. Overall, this is a sad movie that is driven by brilliant acting.
