It is quite predictable, but very nice. An unappreciated gem. Although predictable, the film has charm. I think people can relate to Akeelah's life. Her life is full of realizations and hard work. Teenagers can relate to her story.
All types of people. It is very "now". This movie deserves an Oscar nod. At least an acting nod can do. A very nice family film. Recommended for family viewing.
