Review of Airport '77 (1977) by Roy C — 01 May 2010
Just as unlikely, yet a better sequel than "Airport 1975" this time has the additional twist of NOT taking place in any airport.
Jack Lemmon heads the cast as the Chuck Heston like hero that finds his 747 hijacked...then underwater...in the BERMUDA TRIANGLE!!!
This attempt to cash in on the popularity of "The Poseidon Adventure" shows what a superior disaster flick that was. I do like Lemmon and Darin McGavin though and who doesn't like seeing James Stewart? Lee Grant spends most of the film looking sultry which is also okay. George Kennedy is in it because its an "Airport" film but he's really there for the catering table and wrap party I think.
