Review of Airplane! (1980) by Robert I — 20 Jan 2013

Airplane, is not only the greatest spoof comedy ever made, but it's also one of my all time favorite comedies. Of course, I know this movie is very silly and little over the top at times, but I don't really care because almost every joke in this movie works and I laugh from start to finish every time I watch this film.

All the satire and all the one-liners are just hilarious and all the characters are great. Robert Hays and Julie Hagerty play the two lead chracters and there chemistry together is so awkward, but that's what makes it so funny.

I also love how this movie spoofs cheesy romance movies by playing the romantic music every time the main characters see each other, I think that's hilarious. Leslie Nielsen and Lloyd Bridges also star in the movie and they pretty much steal the show because every single joke them two make in the movie is just hysterical, those guys are always great comedians and putting them two in a movie together is probably the smartest thing anyone can do.

So yeah, I really love this movie, I've seen it a bunch of times and I still can't get sick of it, it's funny when I was younger and it's still funny now.
