Review of Aguirre, the Wrath of God (1972) by Cameron M — 20 Jul 2009
An ambitious film by Werner Herzog. The film is slow moving and has a bogged down feel, but probably on purpose. A recreation of the madness and hopelessness of the searching for a treasure that does not exist.
Klaus Kinski's performance is mesmerizing, and despite the amazing location and cinematography, may be the only real reason to see this film.
