Review of Aguirre, the Wrath of God (1972) by Doug B — 20 Jul 2008
A story that is manic and overwhelmingly epic. This chilling, but engrossing depiction of the Conquistador's journey to El Dorado is told mainly through narration from the diary kept through the journey, with minimal dialogue, so the viewer paints their own picture.
And what a fine canvas it is too, filled with vivid colour, sound and movement.
