Review of Aguirre, the Wrath of God (1972) by Corey B — 03 May 2010
Fascinating, hypnotic film with a riveting performance by Kinski as Aguirre. An unsettling film that tells its story simply, but with great conviction. Herzog isn't flashy here; instead he lets the movie draw the viewer in, so that violence and normalcy co-exist, creating a hallucinatory feeling where anything can happen.
