Review of Aguirre, the Wrath of God (1972) by Liam R — 29 Sep 2010
Only masterpieces can capture the vanity and the madness of mankind with such a minimalistic way.All the contempt for every living being(except his daughter) depicts perfectly inside Kinski's eyes and words.
As for Kinski, gives an eerie performance playing the heartless Aguirre with some splinters of love for his daughter(just look at the poster!!!).
Herzog's cinematography is simply perfect. The entering and ending scene are awesome accompanied from a great score.
