Review of Aftershock (2012) by Ivor S — 12 Jul 2018
Surprised me, I did know what to expect. The setup was long, and for the most part gave you nothing to like about the characters and their lifestyles. Got the point visiting tourists acting ugly. I was tempted to turn off the film, but for the anticipation of the earthquake.
The earthquake was done well, from the point of view inside a dance club. The main group of characters are now focused on survival. The acting is good, when disaster strikes, one can feel the bonds between them, So with an odd twist, the jerks we were introduced to, start acting heroically.
which is too bad. As was pointed out by other critics, they get the shaft. The plot is inclined to take matters from bad to worse and the deaths become more cruel. .
