Review of Afterschool (2009) by Aaron G — 26 Aug 2012
I definitely need to rewatch this movie to understand it better, but I love it because it tackles these taboo issues which are usually just passed over in hollywood for more cool ones. Ezra Miller is fabulous, of course, and although the unorthodox filming can be off putting, it also really shows the whole video thing, giving it the effect of a found film.
Also, it really plays the whole 'you are more scared by your imagination than any special effects' thing. Also I loved the subtle, yet not-so-subtle implications made about the teachers and students.
