Review of After the Wedding (2006) by Isabelle P — 24 Apr 2008
A moving story (with perhaps a few too many brooding close-up shots) that intertwines the lives of characters (as ex-lovers, spouses, parents) caught between their broken pasts and their uncertain futures.
Dramatises the fragile connections and reconnections that allow the characters to recover a sense of lost dignity and integrity and that testify to their shared human need for a legacy to survive them and make up for the various forms of abandonment they've both experienced and have been responsible for.
