Anyone who says After the Dark is a smart movie is incredibly dumb and has no idea what they're talking about. Constant continuity errors, broken philosophical thoughts and theories, incoherent story plot, and way too many movie convenience.
The pacing jumps all over the place; one minute the plot is trying to be ponderous and pretentious, to terrible humour and sex jokes. If the visual representation of events is based on a hypothetical scenario then why is there random sex scenes and drama? are the students openly discussing it or acting it out to be visual represented? any attempt to make sense of this far too much effort for this spunk of a movie.
It's not thought provoking, it's just plain stupid.
