Review of After Hours (1985) by Christopher G — 01 Jul 2007
From the opening title credits to that last awkward jump cut, this film is perfect in every way. Dizzying camera movements, atmospheric score, classic pop songs and a genuine comedic performance by Griffin Dunne that has stuck with me all these years.
Or is it a thriller? This is one film from Scorsese's oeuvre that gets overlooked, but it is easily my favourite. Dunne's one wild night in the SoHo district of New York along with all of the women he meets, never lets up.
Makes the 80's an easier decade to defend for movies.
