Review of After Hours (1985) by Ashley C — 27 Apr 2009
It says something about this film that, no matter how hellish it makes mid-'80s New York seem, it also makes me wish I had been of age at the time of its release so that I could better appreciate its sensibilities.
It's remarkable how the film can be so Kafkaesque yet so thoroughly hilarious (the explicit homage to The Trial with Clarence Felder is a particular shriek). Still perhaps my favorite New York movie of all time.
