Review of After Hours (1985) by Dimitri J — 22 Jan 2011
An Alice in Wonderland tale where for the first time in Scorsese movie there isn't any swearing. Griffin Dunne plays Paul a guy with a normal job, but one night starting with a date and ending with a sculpture his life is turned upside down.
Fun as well as bleak in showing the nightlife of New York, Scorsese succeeds because of his source material which is fast moving as well as Thelma Schoonmaker's fast cuts. This is a entertaining and weird tale in the best sense of the word.
