Review of After Hours (1985) by Phil H — 16 Jul 2011
This is a quirky movie with a completely farfetched storyline. Lots of recognizable actors have small roles (Teri Garr, Linda Fiorentino, Cheech and Chong, etc.), with Griffen Dunne getting the meat of the movie. Dunne is not exciting at all. Arquette looks fabulous though. The movie drags in spots where Scorsese is trying to evoke the same feelings of dread and inevitablility that Paul feels. He even breaks the fourth wall at one point, adding to the peculiar feel of the movie. I can't recommend that anyone but Scorsese fans watch it.
