Review of After Hours (1985) by Greg C — 26 Dec 2011
Many may disagree, but I have to call "After Hours" a miss by the master filmmaker. While it is certainly Scorsese at his wildest and most unrestrained, it also seems to be his least passionate and dull effort.
The performances are forced, stale, and the illogical plot races to nowhere. Granted there are a few laughs along the way, "After Hours" just seems thrown together. It lacks the tender love and care most of Scorsese's work thrives on.
