Review of After Earth (2013) by Meredith W — 19 Apr 2014

I typically enjoy post apocalyptic/futuristic movies, however, with its generic plot, clichéd dialogue and emotionless performances, this was a disappointment. Although "After Earth" is visually impressive (cinematography that would have been great to see on the big screen, especially in 3D), there isn't much to it; Will Smith and his son crash on Earth and what follows is mostly Jaden running all over the place while the Dad watches him on a screen from the crash site.

And Jaden's performance is far from that of a lead actor.
