After Earth doesn't try to be anything deep, and that's actually it's biggest weakness. A very well directed film, the script is just too cliche and bland. However Jaden and Will Smith are likable enough and the film doesn't outstay it's welcome, you probably won't remember it, but I certainly don't regret seeing it.
