Review of After Earth (2013) by Janice G — 27 Jan 2014

I only finished the movie because I had nothing else to watch. And, also because mid point you're already committed to it. It felt more like a training mission gone bad then a story of survival. To me the ending was too 'happily ever after'.

Sure we lost crew but the crew wasn't the focus of the story. The two focus characters endured hardship but suffered no real long term consequence (or at least not that was shown). They spent a lot of time on back story that I wish had just been put at the front or somewhere else all together (if it had to be left in there).

I wouldn't recommend or watch it again. As it stands I'm not a fan of either Will or Jaden as far as their acting goes. They need to step it up a notch or move over for someone else to take their place.
