This is a great movie that I watch many times. A special calming movie that is great to fall asleep with at night. Quiet and low key but vivid and lush. I find the acting all acceptable and Will Smith is solid. His son is interesting to watch act and if anything he was simply overdirected because his dad spent many days of shooting directing him from the sidelines... But I like the effect of his acting style in this movie. He seems vulnerable and like he wants to be grown up before his time like most teens. The shots are beautiful. The music is haunting. This is a film that works great on many levels and will work especially well for dads going through their teens growing up with them.

I can't find any reason not to recommend this movie. If you are not a fan of Smith, M.Night or sci fi then you might not enjoy it. But if you like that style then you will probably really like if not love this movie.

As I said it is actually a very relaxing film and easy to fall asleep too... Something I look for in films... Kinda like goonies and startrek blended together with a touch of aliens thrown in.
