Review of Affliction (1996) by Tom H — 07 Oct 2007
An unflinching look at a most dysfunctional family, and the violent relationship between father and son. Nock Nolte turns in one of his greatest performances as a New Hampshire sheriff, and James Coburn is perfect as his abusive father, a role that garnered the late actor his first and only Academy Award.
