Review of Æon Flux (2005) by Movie K — 21 Jun 2009
First watch this in cinema. Wasn't very impress. Watching it again is about the same. A virus kills 99% of the human population and a guy invented a cure and so for 400 years the survivng humans lives in a isolated world with high walls.
A small underground group of rebels wants to kill the leader Marton Csokas. Charlize Theron is Aeon Flux, the top assassin. For nothing her sister Amelia Warner was killed. Shortly she received the order to kill the leader, and to combine with Sophie Okonedo.
When Charlize got the chance to kill Marton, a sudden flashback strike her and she got knocked out and was locked. But later managed to escape. Jonny Lee Miller is Marton's brother, 2nd in command and he is the one who plan to get him killed.
Later Marton told Charlize that the cure for the virus had a side effect and that is infertility. So everyone DNA are collected and to be clone forever until a cure for the infertility is found. He and Jonny were cloned 7 times already.
Jonny wants to live forever. Amelia was killed like many others because somehow they managed to evolve and can get pregnant again. Sophie and 3 others wanted to kill the 2 good guys but was convince and back them up but all were killed in the shootout.
Charlize bomb the flying ship which is actually the clone workshop.
