Review of Ae Fond Kiss... (2004) by Shala T — 11 Jun 2007
A love story that isn't all fanciful but steeped in reality. Not only is it about a relationship that spans cultures but also a movie revolving around differing religions (He's muslim and she's catholic).
It questions whether two people from too very different worlds (but in America) can be together without outside pressures (i.e. family, friends, jobs) getting in the way that seem to magnify their differences when they do not themselves.
I like this movie because it deals with a topic I often debate over - how religion divides people. Great indie movie that I almost passed up.
