Review of Adventureland (2009) by Trystan C — 23 Jul 2012
Go Greg Mottola! After directing the killer "Superbad" it probably would have been easy to keep doing sub-par rehashes of that same movie. Instead, he goes the auteur route and writes and directs an authentically 80's coming-of-age movie that's barely a comedy.
Mottola wears his memories and his love of Lou Reed proudly on his sleeve for this, and it pays off in an honest and artistic way. Great soundtrack too.
