Review of Adventureland (2009) by Eoin B — 20 Jun 2017
It has some interesting moments and it means well, but this movie, at least from my point of view, never really quite takes off or achieves its potential. It started very well, with an interesting premise, some sharp and insightful dialogues and promising characters, but it then transforms into a movie with too much pointless drama and one too many montages and muscal moments.
And, although I really liked Kristen's character at first and thought her relationship with Jesse was interesting and original, it later developed into an almost painfully awkward relationship with very little chemistry.
And the mandatory "big fight" was anti-climatic and almost childish. Ultimately this movie dissapointed me because I thought it never really achieved its potential and it could've been better.
