Gripping film. Nicholas Cage is such a scattershot actor. It floors you when he turns out a performance like this and then goes and does something like Wickerman. Spike Jonze is in top form here. This film makes me forgive him for Where the wild things are.
But with the source material considered he didn't have that much to work with.
