Review of Adaptation. (2002) by James B — 01 Mar 2011
How do you Describe adaptation, one things for sure it's not to every ones taste, but I loved it. Then again a like most of Charlie Kaufman movies. If you are not familiar with his name you might know some of his work. being John Malkovich and eternal sunshine of the spotless mind to name a few. As you can tell from the list of films they are not your regular movies, giving Charlie his own unique style. This films falls right into this category.
It's about Charlie being Commissioned to adapt a non-fiction novel into a screenplay, screenwriter Charlie Kaufman ends up writing himself into the story with bizarre results that's just half of it. .
Nicolas Cage plays Charlie Kaufman. And his twin brother . Cage has his good day and bad days as a actor.
But this is one of his best. He's over Weight, going bold and losing it , just what you want to see from cage . His co stars are all on top form meryl Streep I don't think I've ever seen her give a bad performance and this is no different . Last but not least chris copper who won a academy award for his role , he's looking good on this movie with his two front teeth missing. .
All in all stick with this movie in the begging, you might find this hard but will be highly rewarded. Once you get the concept of the movie you be introduced to a film within a film within another film. 4 stars. .
