Review of Adaptation. (2002) by Steve M — 01 Aug 2012
"Adaptation" was the best movie of 2002 in a year where films like "LOTR: Two Towers" and "Chicago coming out around the same time. Nicolas Cage, Meryl Streep and Chris Cooper were all worthy of Oscars that year for their tremendous performances.
With magnificent direction form Spike Jonez and a fantastically crazy screenplay from Charlie Kaufman, they manage to adapt a seemingly unfilmable book while creating an original film about that sort of pokes fun of Hollywood, actors, screenwriters, agents and etc.
As the movie progresses, "Adaptation" gets crazier that take viewers down the rabbit hole that Jonez and Kauffman has created.
