Review of Adam's Rib (1949) by Catherine K — 03 Nov 2009
I'm rather conflicted about ADAM'S RIB. From the get-go, it's clearly well done (the shooting scene is brilliantly choreographed), and Cukor maintains a high level of suspense as to which way the case will go.
But though it's supposed to be a comedy, I found myself frustrated by the film's rather laughable verdict..which I can't understand being an issue of woman rights. I simply found it a bit dated.
