While this movie has its problems, mostly due to attitudes towards the orientals at the time it was made, that it does on occasion defy expected sterotypes. The cast is phenomenal. I can't seem to get enough of Humphrey Bogart at his best and he's terrific.

Mary Astor and Sydney Greenstreet are marvelous and it's a lot of fun to see these performers who do so well on the screen again. The ending I felt was slightly problematic and requires suspension of disbelief yet no more so than today's modern action hero films.
