My main problem with ace ventura 2 is how overrated it is. Everyone says this movie is hilarious and while I'll admit it had one or two big laughs most of it was just chuckles. I think this film is very much like another one of Jim Carrey's overrated comedies Bruce Almighty, in that there is so much wasted potential and that the second half is much funnier than the first half.
Overall I wouldn't say this is a terrible comedy in fact it is actually very fun but it's not a very good one. I would recommend that if you do watch it you ignore the atrocious first half and watch the second half, that's where the real comedy was.
