Review:

What a total load of rubbish! I was expecting to have a couple of giggles throughout the movie because the cast was quite impressive but it's REALLY badly written and all of the actors just end up making fools out of themselves. It's about a waitress (Jessica Biel) who gets a nail stuck in her head after a random accident in a restaurant, while her boyfriend is proposing to her. When she goes to the hospital with her boyfriend, she finds out that she can't get the nail removed because she hasn't got medical insurance so she goes Washington DC to get help from a slightly dumb congressman to try and get help with her case. Because the nail is still in her head, she keeps on having split personalities but she gets help from her local vicar and his handy sidekick who stay by her side through her weird journey. The jokes were ridiculous and the music and weird storyline made this movie hard to watch. I'm really surprised that the cast agreed to do this film because it must have looked silly on paper. With that aside, the cast did make the most out of a badly written script and there chemistry seemed like they were having fun whilst making the movie but it wasn't enough to make it watchable. At the end of the day, it's really a bad day at the office for the experienced cast and I'm sure they will put this bad experience behind them. Terrible!

Round-Up:

This has to really go down as a massive lost for director David O. Russell who brought you top movies like Three Kings, which was brilliant, I Heart Huckabees, which I also enjoyed, The Fighter, also a great film, American Hustle, brilliant and Silver Linings Playbook which had some great performances from Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence. With those movies behind him, everyone must have been expecting something big from this film, especially after seeing the cast list but it really is awful and I'm not surprised that the critics hated it. He's teamed up with DeNiro, Cooper and Lawrence again in his biopic Joy, which is due out anytime soon, so I'm sure that he will be getting back into the spotlight with that movie. Anyway, Gyllenhaal has been in the press a lot lately because of his physic and great performance in Southpaw so this movie was a weird choice after great movies like End Of Watch and the deep Nightcrawler. Maybe it was the established director which drew him to the project! Jessica Biel and Catherine Keener put it some average performance and I actually didn't mind Tracy Morgan in this film but it's really the script that let the movie down. The concept was really far fetched and the movie just became annoying after a while but the morals about the medical insurance weren't too bad.

Budget: $26million.

Worldwide Gross: $4,500 (Awful!).

I recommend this movie to people who are into their romantic comedies about a lady whose fighting to get a nail taken out of her head because she hasn't got medical insurance. 2/10.
