Review of Absolute Power (1997) by Anna C — 27 Aug 2010
Not one of Clint's best, but below par Clint is still miles ahead of most directors out there...
Whilst the premise is a little silly, it is very watchable stuff. Clint is great up fron and Hackman has fun playing a very sleazy pres. It is the supporting cast that really make this film however. Ed Harris is excellent as is Scott Glenn as a secret service agent. His scenes with Judy Davis in particular are terrific. Chuck Laura Linney into the mix as well, these guys bring a layer of class that is really welcome.
