Review of Above the Rim (1994) by Ifiok O — 19 Nov 2009
The movie's best performance of course comes from the late-great Tupac Shakur, who was an able actor as he was an able rapper. His character brought much tension, and gave Duane Martin's character the moral compromises needed to create character depth.
The story is pretty melodramatic, but I was pretty impressed with the actual hoops being played here. Also, the soundtrack is dope.
