Review of About Schmidt (2002) by Jane H — 15 Mar 2008
Jack Nicholson excellent as the insignificant and very grey main character. The movie was too slow and turgid for me but I liked the different characters. I liked the portrayal this guy who took his life for granted and on losing his wife expected the daughter he had not shown any previous interest, to drop everything to look after him! My favourite was the colourful family the daughter marries into, especially the excellent Kathy Bates.
