Review of About Schmidt (2002) by Warren S — 13 Dec 2011
I saw this recently and found it to be a surprisingly good film. Jack Nicholson is really good in this and you become very empathetic toward him as a person who has gotten old, sad and forgotten. His decision to start supporting a child from a third world country becomes the heart of the movie and surprised me.
I thought it was going to turn into this depressing story, but it drew me in and I became involved in his poor life and found the humor there as well.
