Review of About Schmidt (2002) by Brian B — 03 Sep 2008
This is nothing less than the great Jack Nicholsons's most heartfelt and and true performances he has given since The Shining. Nicholson takes away all the bravado and ego that he has carried in most of his films and becomes a shy Midwestern everyman grappling with his retirement, becoming a widower and his daughters upcoming wedding.
Director Alexander Payne known for Sideways and Election brings us to Omaha, Nebraska to a real world time and place where Warren Schmidt goes on a life journey to find out if he has ever made a difference.
This is a must see film... I urge to to see this one.
