Review of Abduction (2011) by Jonathan B — 11 Feb 2012
I watched this mainly because of all the bad reviews, and tons of people saying that Lautner "can't act"....and I have to say, I actually liked it. Now I have to admit that yes, the script had tons of holes in it, and there were a lot of questions that went unanswered, and that bothered me, but only slightly.
It was well paced, and the action started quick, which I liked. There were some moments when Lautner seemed to not be very comfortable in his role (he didn't exactly grow up acting...give the kid a break) but over time, that will change.
He will get more comfortable with taking on new roles and such. Lily Collins also seemed to be forcing her role too; and not comfortable with it. And as for Sigourney Weaver....now she was a complete letdown.
She's been acting forever, and the performance she gave was downright horrible. I couldn't believe it.....it's like she only took the role to get some extra cash and didn't really give a crap so did a half-ass job.
But overall, in my personal opinion, this movie was not as bad as a lot of people made it out to be.
