Awfully bad, painfully uninteresting and completely shallow, Abduction is probably the worst movie of 2011. A pathetic attempt to create sort of teenage-targeting Bourne-like spy thriller, starring teen-star Taylor Lautner, this movie is a real torture for the no Lautner fans.

Speaking of the story-telling and plot is useless, as the plot holes are so big that one could fall in them. The pacing is terribly uneven and the movie is anything else but convincing. Trying to hold more than 100 minutes on Taylor Lautner's image, some quality chasing scenes and fighting sequences is far from being enough. What is really disappointing in Abduction is the fact that an old-school director like John Singleton has not managed to deliver at least something close to his mid-level movies (such as 2 Fast 2 Furious, for example).

Everything is just so wrong with Abduction (except for the already mentioned chasing scenes) that even Taylor Lautner's disastrous performance seems like a decent one. I have no idea whether Lautner was selected for the role, or the movie was created for him, but this obvious attempt to benefit from his Twilight-star status has resulted in moments when Lautner's sex appeal is ridiculous.

Writing a detailed review about a movie that annoys so much is a hard task. There are only two words that could be said about this movie as a conclusion : avoid it.
