Not bad. That's about all you can say for this film, but it's a glowing review compared to most of what has been said about it. Despite all the bad I had heard & read I had to watch it because the storyline reminded me of an old favorite, Little Nikita.
Abducted actually had a lot going for it & it might have been very good. It could have been a 'win the girl through adversity' movie that teens would have loved. Or it could have been an action thriller that the fans of chase films would have enjoyed.
But it seems the filmmakers could not decide which to make, or bizarrely thought the two could be combined. The result is a disjointed movie that neither audience could get into. Maybe I only loved Little Nikita when I was 14 because River Phoenix was a teen heartthrob, & maybe 14 year olds will like Abducted for their favorite heartthrob, but the rest of the world will have to just say too bad.
