Review of A Wrinkle in Time (2018) by Stuart M — 22 Jun 2018
There's just something missing from this beautiful and well-acted film. Some sort of plan. The film somehow meanders aimlessly yet purposefully (figure that one out) through what should have been a simple plot.
But the fact that they never really define why they're going where they're going or give any sense of awe or feeling for the three Mrs or even what's happening at any given moment makes it hard to get lost in the plot.
And the emotional turns at the ending have no foreshadowing or buildup. I recall loving the book as a boy, but I remember too little of it to understand what's going on here. I imagine people who've even less knowledge of the source material will be even more lost.
