Review of A Wrinkle in Time (2018) by Realperson2018 — 09 Nov 2020
I finally watched this Disney-fied version of a favorite childhood novel. As I feared--This movie was terribly disappointing. It was like cotton-candy--no substance at all. Pretty pictures and platitudes.
There is very little character building. What characterization there is goes exclusively to Meg. Everyone else are cardboard cut-outs. The story from the novel has been cut to almost nothing. I'm learning to distrust Disney with anything but the most childish of stories.
Even then they over-simplify and prettify everything.
