I liked the movie very much. The focus on Meg and her struggles rather than Charles Wallace and his exceptionalism made the movie feel more grounded for me. The book is clearly loved by many but I found the book emotionless until the end when Meg pleads for Charles Wallace to remember her love for him.

I loves ed how the movie tied the black thing to the everyday evil around us and the thoughts that create it (Meg being tormented by the girl who is suffering with self doubt). I think the movie succeeds in making a better case for the power of the individual by focusing on Meg.

And Reese Witherspoon's Mrs Whatsit brought. A nice touch of humor to the story. I expected to dislike this movie and I found it delightful.
