Recently RE-made with Ben Kingsley and re-titled 'A COMMON MAN', the original remains a top-notch, if largely under-rated superior film, the only reason for a remake I can think of is the possibility of reaching a wider audience internationally perhaps! I recommend watching both and then judging them each on their own merits.
