Review of A Walk in the Woods (2015) by Daniel T — 30 Oct 2015
Watched this with the folks (60+). Kind of gentle with some good laughs. Suitable for the older than average audience in the cinema. Not going to offend anyone.
A bit like a tame 'Sideways'...but not as good. Same sort of character fit.
Bit slow though and predictable...a bit like Bryson's writing in my opinion. Bag of popcorn would have improved things!
Beautiful scenery.
Emma thompson is utterly implausible as the wife...looks about 25 years too young. Its pretty confusing when there are kids hanging around which look like they should be hers. Poor lady. Acting the granny when she's not ready! Believe he married 40 years ago- Emma Thompson is 55 but LOOKS 45. Basically, I thought she was the daughter for a while! Anyway, you ARE WELCOME EMMA. No fee.
